You’re as honest as you can be,
It’s true.
You’re as brave as you are honest,
Equal measure.
We bear what we can, and we fight to be something we ought to be,
Holding on,
We build and protect, we guard and refute,
We find meaning,
Purpose, togetherness,
Trust.
Tall as mountains,
Firm as stone,
That path, that giving and joyful path,
Brings you everything you need, everything you’d hope to have.
You solidify yourself, you give over,
All without doing the brave trouble,
The forever task,
The silent, consuming, crippling step,
Looking into that hidden field of terror stealing the love and hope of the moment,
Of you,
Wide-eyed to yourself, your faults and failures, your cruelty,
Seeing the truth.
Being honest with all you are,
You see yourself plainly, without deceit,
And you begin.
