The slow silence of damning dreams
Takes my thoughts
There’s a ringing in my ears,
Letting me know that my dreams are now my fears.
Drowned in shadow, no light to be seen,
Yet my legs keep moving,
Pushing through this horror-filled dream.
Darkness drowns on this listless walk.
Where am I going?
The night smiles a chill and knowing mock.
There are monsters here, inside my head;
Cold rotting things,
That want nothing more than to see me dead.
Revolting against the evil that besets my mind.
I’ve turned turned cold.
There’s nowhere to run, and I’m out of time.
The silence is a solid thing,
Fangs knash and tear,
Shredding what was once my dream.
Leaving nothing but nightmare.
